This is My New Blog

Sep 30, 2012   //   by Helen   //   Blog, News  //  4 Comments

Today is Sunday. It’s September 30, and it’s the day that we moved my website and blog over to WordPress.  I say we, because Kieran, who did my web design in Cork, did the techie stuff. It also means he worked today, Sunday, as well as yesterday, so thank you for that Kieran.

Why Sunday?

Over the past six months, I’ve written a series of articles for “Accountancy Ireland” magazine about blogging for accountancy practices. Tomorrow, the October issue will be published, in which I reference my new blog.  The copy deadline was a month ago, and then, as I wrote the article, October 1 seemed so far away. In the meantime, I had to work on a few new client projects and of course, I deferred working on the new website and blog until the last minute. Clients first!

I had an actual nightmare during the week that the magazine came out early and there was no new website. Small worries, I know.

In my latest article for “Accountancy Ireland“, I provide tips on what features a blog should have. By the end of this week, this blog should have them all, as we, (well Kieran), will be installing plugins and tweaking for a few days yet.

It was a pleasure to work with Kieran, and we worked virtually using Skype, email, text, Dropbox, Google docs and Twitter. Kieran may also have prayed a bit, I certainly gave him cause to.

If you have any feedback, please feel free to leave a comment below or contact me.

    • Hi Phyl,
Kieran, my “web man” is still tweaking, I’ll be the stuff of his nightmares if I’m not careful. He’s very patient!
Thanks very much for your kind comment, I really appreciate it.
