Online Accounting Software for SMEs – Accountants Roadshow as Surfaccounts launches in Ireland & UK
Online Accounting Software
Online accounting software is a growth area as business owners warm to the benefits of being able to access, and update their accounts from multiple devices, rather than waiting to “get back to the office”. Real time information has real benefits – checking on what a customer owes you as you head into a meeting is just one.
Online accounting software is offered as a SaaS product, (Software as a Service), which means you can use the service for a monthly fee and not invest money up front in purchasing a product that is soon out of date.
Surfaccounts
A client of mine, Relate Software, has just launched a new online accounting software, Surfaccounts, and they have a pre-launch offer for accountants, (see last paragraph of this post.)
Surfaccounts has focused on doing the basics really well. For example it’s easy to raise an invoice on an iPad, so that sales, VAT, and debtors are all taken care of. Surfaccounts, (from the developers of Drive and Apex), has catered for the needs of the SME owner as well as for their accountants. It has a nice solid feel, is simple to use and provides clear reporting. There are quite a few of these cloud accounting services now, but some have poor audit trail, poor reporting, don’t work well for Irish VAT, or aren’t really accounting packages at all. Of course, with accounting software, it’s horses for courses, so if you want multicurrency or departmental reporting, you’ll have to wait a while for it yet in Surfaccounts.
Surfaccounts provides an accountant log-in, so that accountants can work in tandem with their clients to produce account quickly and accurately. It provides a real opportunity to improve the basic accounting data so that time can be spent on helping clients make more informed decisions, and not just merely balancing the books.
Accountants Seminars and Offer
There is a series of free nationwide launch seminars for accountants starting on Mar 26, (14 seminars, 12 locations). You can register online. It’s definitely worth a look if you either operate a SME or have clients who do.
If you are an accountant, and interested in the service for either yourself or your clients, make sure to let Surfaccounts know as they have a pre-launch offer for accountants in the form of a deep discount.
