What does the Jobs Initiative mean for Irish consumers?

Yesterday the Irish government announced their jobs initiative to stimulate employment and improve Ireland’s competitiveness. As the tourism industry has suffered an approximate loss of earnings of 30% over the years 2007 -2010, many of the measures are designed to stimulate this sector. The reduction in VAT on tourism related services from 13.5% to 9% is very welcome. What does this mean for the consumer?
